Constitutional Structure of

The Federation of United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

 

Federal law making is the responsibility of an Executive with Federal Parliament consisting of a Senate (replacing The House of Lords) and Congress (replacing The House of Commons) and an independent Federal wide judiciary headed by a Federal Supreme Court. The extent of federal law shall reflect a settlement of maximum decentralisation, the exemption being issues of National Security.

 

Non Federal law making is the responsibility of each of the Federations constituent Kingdoms, which initially shall be:

 

Scotland

Wales

Northern Ireland

Isle of Man*

West Wales (based on the pre-roman area that now includes Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset)

Northumbria (based on the pre-conquest boundaries including Yorkshire, Cumbria, Tyne & Wear, Durham, Lancashire and Northumberland)

Mercia (based on 8th centenary boundaries to include Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire)

East Danelaw (based on the boundaries at the time of The Treaty of Chippenham and including Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex)

Wessex (based on the boundaries at the time of The Treaty of Chippenham excluding those areas of that are part of Mercia and West Wales)
