The National Insurance Support Payment (NISP)

1. Contribution based.
2. Minimum contribution required is 10 years
3. Contribution made from age 5
4. Contribution credits awarded for periods of full time education or training or apprenticeship and NISP payment.
5. Payment of NISP awarded to claimants when unemployed, off work with illness or disability, caring for children under aged 4 or disabled relatives or when over aged 55.
6. Basic NISP payment made to all claimants.
7. Enhanced NISP payments made to claimants caring for a child under aged 4
8. Enhanced NISP payments made to claimants caring for a disabled relative – the amount depending on the nature, extent and any predicted recovery period concerning the disabled relative they care for.
9. Enhanced NISP payments made to claimants aged over 55 (replacing the existing state pension payment system)
10. Enhanced NISP payments made to claimants with a disability – the amount depending on the nature, extent and any predicted recovery period.
11. Enhanced NISP payments made to claimants off work with illness - the amount depending on the nature, extent and any predicted recovery period.
12. Enhanced NISP payments made to claimants who are unemployed and aged under 55 – the amount depending on the number of job applications and interviews attended via a National Vacancy Database (ALL vacancies every employer has must be [compulsorily] listed in the NVD) during a designated time period and/or registration, attendance and completion of a course of training or education via the National Training and Education Database (All course vacancies must be compulsorily listed in the NTED)
