National Agency for Beating Human Disease

A fair progressive tax on land ownership will be used to fund the establishment and continued funding of a National Agency for Beating Human Disease. The Agency will be tasked with developing cures for the top 50 human diseases nominated by the British public within 10 years. Centers of clinical excellence will be established as part of the agency in areas with post industrial decline issues. Patents defining the cures will be licenced in external health markets and the revenue generated used to ensure that the National Health Service is funded on an annual basis at no less than triple the rate of inflation.

Through the generosity of the British public in mobilizing part of their wealth Britain will give an historic legacy to all humankind. Leading the world a Labour government and the people of Britain will do the same for medicine that President JF Kennedy launched for space exploration; the World will be a better, safer and healthier place as Britain takes its place as a beacon of hope for all mankind.
