Eye Care in England through the NHS

For England and Wales; change the provision of eye care to be the same as or better than that provided in Scotland;
https://www.college-optometrists.org/the-college/how-uk-eye-care-services-are-delivered/scotland.html
Specifically;
Deliver a primary eye examination and a supplementary eye examination for extra tests or to investigate any symptoms that present themselves during the initial examination.
Optometrists limited to performing a maximum of 20 eye examinations per day.
Transfer care out of hospitals and into the community to enable optometrists to manage a greater range of eye conditions, as well as 'freeing up' GP appointments and reducing the pressure on the hospital eye service.
Allow Optometrists to also refer patients directly to hospital eye services where they deem necessary.
The NHS contract should have a tiered fee structure.
There should be funding to support the training of an adequate number of independent prescribing (IP) optometrists
The issuing of NHS prescribing pads to optometrists should happen to ensure that the English optometrist can manage ocular conditions within primary care at no cost to the patient.
